Currently twenty states participate with the CLASS organization. Each of the twenty states retains a trust for public schools. Each state trust is different beginning with the original grant of lands, the geographical location and resources. They continue to change due to the management structure, political support, state statutes, evolving land management opportunities and the involvement of the beneficiaries. In as many ways as the trusts are the same, they are also different.
