Conferences In Years Past
CLASS has held ten annual conferences. With the exception of the 2002 CLASS
Conference held in Phoenix, Arizona and the 2009 Conference held in Seattle,
Washington, the conferences have been held in conjunction with the Western States
Land Commissioner's Association (WSLCA). Much of the research conducted
by CLASS is presented at the annual conferences. Legal, land use, and financial
experts are among the presenters over the years. Conference participants primarily
determine the agenda for the following year. Bryce Canyon, Utah was the location
of the first conference followed by Phoenix, Arizona. The 2003 Conference was
in Big Sky, Montana and in 2004 Oregon hosted the conference at Gleneden Beach
on the Oregon Coast. The fifth annual conference was held at the Great Divide
Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado. In recent years CLASS Conferences have been
held in Sheridan, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Utah, Boise, Idaho, Seattle,
Washington and Kalispell, Montana. Rapid City, South Dakota was the site for the
2011 CLASS Conference that was held in conjunction with WSLCA.
